Walt: make connections between texts.
Description: For this task we had to summarise the two books we read about and we had to write down the main ideas in the story. Also we had to write down the main ideas about the video that was on our reading page. !!HOPE YOU ENJOY!! 

Text 1:	The right beat
Summarise the main ideas of this text.	They were trying to make a beat that suited the words from the song using the instruments and using tunes. They had to find out the tunes really fast because they were going to perform the song in a few minutes. So they kind of finished by changing the words a little bit.

Text 2:	The GHB
Summarise the main ideas of this text.	In the GHB story there was this boy called Nick he had loved the the pipe bags from the Scottish bands he had played when the rugby games started. Also he had to wait till he was nine too learn how to play the pipe bags.

What is the main event in this visual text?	George was learning more information about the woodwind family, strings family, brass family and the percussion family. He was trying to find out what instrument he wants to play he did find out but it wasn’t a instrument he wanted to be a conductor. He wanted to conduct the instrument band.

Description: In this task I learnt why the sky is blue and what makes the sky. White light makes a rainbow shine.

How to make your homemade poi

How to make a homemade Poi  

Paragraph. 1 (Introduction)

To make a homemade poi you have to make sure that you have the right things into making it. First to make a poi you actually have to prepare of what you have got and made sure you have it. The things you need is a plastic bag, a pair of scissors, some fluff from a pillow, some string, and a loom band.

Paragraph. 2 (Facts)

Step. 1  

The plastic bag you have should be open wide. Next you have to put your fluff in the bag and squish it up tight which means that the plastic bag shouldn’t be full with fluff just put a little bit in.

Step. 2

The next part is to cut a little bit near the fluff inside the plastic bag and just move onto the string. The string you have can be any kind of colour and can be as long as you want ( but not to long). For other styles for your string, you can plait it or two plait and last twirl it.

Paragraph. 3 (Information)

Step. 3 (Final Step)

Finally you have to get you plastic bag with your fluff in it and connect it with your string. To do that you have to get you string and put it with the fluff inside the plastic bag but just the end of the poi. Secondly you have twirl your plastic bag and get your loom band and tie it around your your plastic bag. Then your poi is done and finished from how you made.

Paragraph. 4 (Conclusion)

To make a poi you can also use other materials to make one. The poi is very fun because you can practice your kapahaka moves to make it better. The only reason why you can make a poi easily is because the material can be different.
