Prizegiving

On Thursday the 7th of December there was the Point England School Prize giving. First at school there was the Junior Prize giving, also after school at 7:00 but we had to be there at 6:30. When prize giving started at 7:00 we had to go to our class and line up in our homerooms. After a talk through with Mr Sommerville we got sent to sit in our spots in the hall where prize giving was at.

Before prize giving started in the hall we had to watch the Senior Kapa Haka do their performance. When the Senior Kapa Haka group were all on the stage we had to do the karakia which Cameo started then we did the other karakia with Judah. The most part I liked about the Kapa Haka Performance was the Maori Haka I really liked how they performed their Culture Dance. After the performance Mr Burt called out the awards from Team 4’s Ako 3 and Ako 2. When Mr Burt called out the awards for Years 5 and 6’s. After the Awards it was the Year 5 item and it was awesome because some people were shouting out people's names. After the Year 5 item we did the Year 6 awards with the Year 5’s as well. Before the Year 6 item Mr Burt had to do the Year 5 and 6s academic winners. Then we did the sports prizes and Zamera was the only Year 5. The Year 6 sports boy winner was Kurtas and the year 6 girl sports winner was Tehillah. Than after that the Year 6 item started and it was the best one because I liked how every year 6 was taking part in the dance and it was so cool because who ever made the dance was really cool. The year 6’s prize giving dance was so cool for me to see because the music was so cool and the dance moves suited it.

After the Year 6 item we did the Year 7 and 8 awards it was so boring when we had to do the awards because it took for ages impulse there was a lot to talk about like we had to talk about the new prefects and the new house captains for 20O Thursday the 7th of December there was the Point England School prize giving. Finally the Year 7's came onto stage and did their prize giving dance which was really fantastic because the boys also were wearing shaded glasses and it was really cool because the girls switched to another side and the boys were on the right side of the stage.

The best part I liked about the Year 7's dance was that they used songs that our school didn't even know. After the Year 7's dance we went straight to announce the Year 8's academic prizes than they announced the Year 8 sports winners and the Year 8 boy and girl sports women and sportsmen which the sportswomen of 2017 was Angelica and the sports boy of 2017 was Siaosi. Later after that it was time for the Year 8 item and it was so cool because I got to see my brother dancing next to Judah, I really liked watching the Year 8 item because I really liked how Heather was dancing it was so !!AMAZING!!.  After the Year 8 item it was time to say the Point England School song which was the best part I liked about prize giving we had to turn around and face our parents and sing the song, it was really cool singing to our parents. Hour Of Code

Description: This activity was the most funniest thing in the whole of Term 4. We were doing an Hour of code it was so fun because I liked playing the activity games and coding it. There was also coding games on scratch and they were so fun. The most funniest game on Code was Moana it was so fun catching fish but it got so tricky but it was so fun. The bestest part was meeting some of the people that work for OMG tech there was two people that came and talked to us about and one was a girl and one was a man. The girl name was Mikayla I was really inspired about her because she was only a Year 12 and she goes to Western Springs. The mans name was Nathan and he came to help us with how to get on it and what to do I was really happy for today. I really hope that we can do this again for next years Code week.
