Creative Writing Task 2: I’m a bird!

Imagine that you are a baby seabird.  It would be different to living in a tree.  Write a story about a baby bird that lives in a nest at the top of a cliff, or in a nest at a beach.

Choose words to make your sentences interesting. Highlight 5 words that make your writing sound WOW! Read your writing to make sure it makes sense. Check your sentence punctuation - beginning and end!

Hello i’m a bird I live on the highest tree in the forest. I am the eldest of my family, which I have one brother and two sisters and to guest that I am the only boy. Today my mother had said that we were old enough to get our own food. So as we set off we landed on to the nearest tree which I was very scared and that’s when me and my sisters had started to learn how to fly. As I the oldest of the family I left the branch and there I fell until my sisters had said it was their turn that’s when I flew and maybe I was a little scared. When we had learnt how to fly we suddenly had a grumbly which I obviously had knew how to catch food that’s when my sisters asked “can I learn”. Then when we were done we set off to see the ocean to start our adventure. Just as we were going I was so tired that me and my sisters fell off to sleep.

The next day they waked up and set off to the sea I was doing lots of tricks like spinning around and touching the water with my wings. Through the water we could see lots of  fish and while we were down deep blue sea where we couldn’t see we’re the forest was, we also found jellyfish. When we found another forest we had landed on and rested, we took a journey through the forest and meet some kiwi’s and some other seabirds. The next day we had finished our journey through the sea and we met some other animals. Once we had landed on our forest land, we had took some rest and had told other animals on the land and told them our greatest adventure was.`

Going to Te Oro Art Centre was amazing to discover other schools learning about keeping our ocean clean also about culture and about how they learn at school. My discoveries about the schools we went to was that some had different types of topics the schools had and even if they had the same topic they stall had different reasons of why they chose and why they keep it clean, and that’s why I am moving on.

The first school that Team 4 went to was Somerville primary school. The topic they were talking about was about pests and why we should keep our pests clean and don’t make them pests. The other thing is that if you put an iPad on a animal picture than on the iPad it will look real and clean flesh.

The third option school we went to was Glen Innes primary, the option they were talking about was how to keep our ocean clean. While I was walking one of the students was talking about how and what it looks like to have a clean creek and to have a polluted creek. I was listening to what she was saying about that if we didn’t have trees around our creek then the fish or eels can die or go to another creek, also if there is no trees around the creek then the water will be very hot and can damage the sea animals.

As our for our fifth school to go and explore was Glen Taylor, they were also talking about polluted water but they were using different words into different sentences.  One of the girl students were saying that if we didn’t save water then the water would be wasted, she also said that if water was polluted then the water wouldn’t be good for us to drink and we also wouldn’t have any water. The other things I also saw at Gln Taylor was that was showing slideshows from students who made it about pollution.

The next school we went to was Pt England which is my school. The thing I liked about our school was the games that Team 5 was making I really liked how they set up the games. The other thing I liked was how interesting the bird feeders were, about how we can get more native birds to come around. The most part I liked about the bird feeders is that the objects they made was made from different types of materials like plastic, glass and or sorts of things.

As we walked pass Tamaki College and explored their projects. We only got about fifteen minutes and then we had to go and watch our school perform their Kapa Haka. The Kapa Haka were standing out so hard that they showed the spirit of Maori. The order of what songs they were singing was starting off with Ko Te Whaea, E Ihowa next they sang Hutia Te Rito which was their song that was singing to us about Te Taiao o Tamaki. Next as we were heading off to school, I also had taken the things I had learnt from other schools back to my own school to tell others what I have learnt.

Trinity Narrative Writing Start Writing here: In the forest there was a little girl named Ayvah. She was walking to the stream and while she was walking she noticed that the stream was really dirty. She decided to do something. Her little dog Stampy was barking on the other side of the stream until she knew the water had been polluted. There was also lots of rubbish on the ground everywhere she went. Lindy had told Ayvah that people had a picnic down the stream and then Lindy said that they also had thrown their rubbish on the ground and put dirty water that wasn’t suppose to go into the stream She decided to make a plan. Everywhere she went the environment was very dirty and disgusting to that the environment was treated like this. When she went to her cottage she saw some buckets and some lids that fitted on it. Then she heard a noise coming that sounded like kids. She quickly got her bucket with lids and her boots on then went to the family and told them to stop chucking rubbish on the ground and stop putting dirty water in the river. So what she did was picked up the rubbish and asked them why do you guys always come to the forest and have a picnic here?. Then she cared on picking up and started putting rubbish in the bin. When she was trying to think of what to do with the water, the next day she thought of getting sticks a rope and some nails. She put together the sticks and rope then she put nails through to keep it secure. When the gate was done, she got huge buckets that were nice and tall, wide and good for her plan. She glued four sticks together to make a square then she put a piece of paper on the wood that was standing then wrote put wasted water in here. The very next day the forest was clean and the people hadn’t come so she was glad but Lindy the talking tree had told Ayvah that she could build a bridge to the other side of the river because she had do the other side of the forest also was dirty and she had to build a fence. Ayvah spent two whole days building a bridge, then the next day at eight o’clock in the morning she crossed the bridge she had everything prepared she had picked up rubbish and built a rubbish bin, then she built another bin to put wasted water in. Finally she built a gate to keep people away from the forest then she then had some nice water and had nice fresh air to breath with. The environment was finally finished. She then thought that keeping the environment was good because the world could be clean.

Dear Mr Burt,

In Point England School area team 4 would like to grow some harakeke plants in an area in our school. I would like it to look beautiful for our school. I have an idea of putting it near the basketball courts near the two big trees and a small one are, I think it should be there because near those trees it looks so plain and when you look at it, it looks like people have been standing on it because people think it’s okay to but it’s not. So that is why I think it should be grown near those trees.

In saying of the Harakeke we can also learn how to cut some of and learn how to weave cause we can make some stuff out the harakeke. Also we can something for someone or someone special to you, your friends or someone who has passed away already. What I have been learning about is that if the harakeke is sick then we can grow some around it and properly a few weeks later then the harakeke will be well for our school community. What I like about the harakeke is that it has nice green long leaves and is very nice.

Also in Point England Area I can see that birds can use the harakeke to make a new style of making a nest, because it is very soft for the baby birds and is properly good for the shape of it. It might be hard but it is stall very good for our creatures in NZ. It is only that I don’t like that some insects might come and eat the plants that we grow but we can also put some egg shells and bottle containers around them so that they don’t come and eat it. We can also treat it so good like watering it every day and giving it sun every day morning and after school.

The plants can also make more and more oxygen for us to breath and have an environment that is beautiful and I think that point england school can take care of the native bushes. Our environment in point england area has to grow a native bush in our area because some of this area is beautiful and some is not so that’s why we should have a beautiful school.

The oxygen of these plants could also give our school the beautiful smell of the plants that team 4 plant and grow with sunlight and water. We also should grow plants in our area is because the quality of our pt england community shows that if we grow more we have the greatest comments of how we respect our whole community, we can also have great comments from the visitors we have that visit our classes and see how we work.
