Matariki Celebration Recount

First of all
On Friday we had assembly like  always and at assembly we had Kauri Flats presented us a presentation about what a flounder is and how we use it to keep it safe. The flounder is used for fish but people make sure that they have to put sand at the bottom to keep them alive.
Next
We went in our lines back to class and got our stickers that said our name and what class we were going to. Then we got sent to the classes that we were suppose to go to celebrate Matariki.
After that
I went to Room 18 which we were doing crafting. The type of craft we did was weaving fish and stars. The juniors went to weave into a paper fish, then the seniors from Year 4 and over are weaving fish. Then after people made weaved fish they made weaved stars that had one strip black and one strip white I didn’t make one because it looked hard but i did end up making my own kind of weaved star.
Later on
When people made everything, juniors and seniors coloured a worksheet that had colouring pages and had word searches and they were all about Matariki.
In the end
We watched three story myths about Matariki and they all were different some were in maori and some were in English. Then we had to go to assembly.
